We had a great run from Montreal to Batiscan, Quebec today. This was an 87 nautical mile trek which we made in just over 10 hours, which means that we averaged 8.5 kts (9.8 mph) for the entire trip. It sure helped to have a 2-3 kt current with us! I could get used to that kind of speed.

We had planned on stopping at Trois Rivieres, but we were doing so well that we continued to Batiscan, which is about 19 miles further down river. This well help tomorrow, as we need to make it to Quebec just after low tide, and that's 49 miles from here. As a result, we'll leave here at 6:30, which is MUCH better than at 4:30 had we left from Trois Rivieres.

We're anchored in the Batiscan river in about 10' of water. For some reason the guide suggests anchoring just across from the marina, which is next to the very noisy steel bridge. Instead we anchored towards the mouth, which is much quieter.
