Ahoy from Cabo Tres Punta, which is on the eastern edge of Guatemala. We started the 60 nm sail from Puerto Escondido at about 6 AM with NO wind. And I mean NO wind. We motor until about 1 PM when a wind finally picked up. Once the wind picked up we had a great sail, ending up with 15+ kts on the beam. Seeing that this may have been the last sail of the season, this was a great way to end the season.

There's not much to see between Puerto Escondido and here. One of the most interesting things was the outflows of rivers. Obviously they have bad farming practices with lots of erosion, but it's amazing to see rivers of mud wandering out into the ocean for miles with clearly delineated edges. And I mean edges. You're miles out to sea and there's a clear boundary that can't be missed. It's like there's a river bank containing it. Amazing! And lots of plant/tree matter. You've got to be careful & keep a keen watch as it would be easy to strike a tree or tree branch.

It appears that there's a fair amount of influential people who live on this point. Large houses, nice boats & nice docks. Not the average neighborhood. We stopped here because we need to cross the bar at Livingston at/around high tide tomorrow, and that's at 06:34. It's a 10+ nm trip there. The bar, which is about 1 nm wide, is supposed to be 6' deep, but lots of boats get stuck there. Tomorrow is the full moon hide tide, giving 2' of tidal lift. Hopefully there won't be any problems.

Tomorrow's an early day, so I'll end it here. Hope all is well where you are! BlueJacket
