Happy New Years everyone!

It's that time of the year again and Sue & I are about to hit the road again...OK, the seas again. Next Tuesday we're headed off to Honduras where BlueJacket sat out the hurricane season. Thankfully none of the hurricanes got too close, so she should be in good shape when we arrive. We expect to spend about 3 weeks getting her ready to sail this season before we head out. We have a lot of work to do: a new main sail, dive compressor, dodger windows and all of the usual work that has to be done to get a boat ready for a season of sailing.

This year we plan to get out of the western Caribbean. We've really enjoyed our stay there, but it's time to move on to someplace else. Our plans are to hang out in Roatan, Honduras (which is part of the Bay Islands off of the coast of Honduras) and then move to Belize. We'll be there through April and then the plan is to head to the Bahamas. Depending upon the weather we'll either head along the coast of Mexico and then to Key West or we'll head to the Cayman Islands (which are on the SE coast of Cuba) and then around Cuba to the Turks and Caicos and then through the Bahamas. The end goal is to get the boat to the Chesapeake for hurricane season and then next fall move her to the Virgin Islands so we can go through the eastern Caribbean next year. Yeah, this is a cruiser's schedule, so stay tuned to see what really happens!

We have a new method of communication while we're in port. There's a program called Skype which allows free PC to PC phone calls to be placed. Skype is free and can be down-loaded from http://www.skype.com/ and all that it requires is that you have a microphone and speakers. If you want to call me, my username is "geoffschultz". You can also call a US based phone number over a regular phone line and it will ring on laptop on the boat. If we're not connected you can leave voicemail for us. We can also dial back to US for about 2.3 cents per minute to any phone line. Pretty cool, huh? If you install Skype, please let us know what your username is.

As usual you can also contact us at our SailMail address. We can't receive attachments, and please don't place this on any distribution lists, but other than that you can send anything to us.

We hope that everyone has a good winter and that it's less brutal than last year.
