We had a nice run from Atlantic City. It started out with very little wind but finally started blowing in the afternoon. We motored/motor-sailed all day. We had considerable current with us, ranging from 0.25 to 0.6 kts. Very nice boost.

We had origonally planned on stopping in Manasquam, but we were making such good time that we continued on to Sandy Hook. We left at 06:15 and pulled into Horseshoe cove at about 18:30. This anchorage is pretty wide open to the wakes from the passing ferries and has a long fetch to the S. The beach looks nice and I can imagine that the place is a zoo on weekends, but we only shared it with 2 other boats. I would recommend looking at the Atlantic Highlands for future anchorages, especially if the winds are strong.
