I have to laugh as I write this as its June 30 and it feels like this is one of those Central American holidays that goes on forever. Regardless, have a great time on this long weekend.
I'm happy to report that we'll be pulling into Beaufort, NC in about 8 hours. And I'm even happier to report that there was nothing to report from yesterday. Well, we did have a pod of big Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins play for an extended period of time in our bow wake and I was even able reach down and touch them as they surfaced. That was fun! Other than that we had clear skies, no wind (right now it's out of the W at 2 kts), flat seas and a 1-2 kt boost from the Gulf Stream.
So, barring any unforeseen happenings we'll be on US soil at around 5 PM today and we're looking forward to a prolonged night of sleep that isn't punctuated by lightening. I've seen enough of that for a while!
Happy 4th of July -- Geoff & Sue
