Oranjestad

We're in Aruba awaiting a new spare water pump for the genset and the impellers that we *have* to get. I've been here twice before & have enjoyed this stay here more than my previous trips. I had always been in the hotels where there's little to do. Oranjestad has lots of nice restaurants, good provisioning, and very nice people. Perhaps it's the ability to experience a bit of Americana one last time before heading into nowhere that made it so nice.

The staff at SeaPort marina was great, even though we didn't stay there. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The anchorage outside of Oranjestad has good holding but you're constantly being buzzed by jets landing. The winds have been blowing and dinghy rides are quite wet. We were told to tie the dinghy up to the landing lights and watch the jets land, but we didn't due to the winds, but I'm sure that it would have been fun!
